Stable, Strong, and Independent: Nexstar’s Plan for 2026

Nexstar Network’s 2025 Super Meeting marked a defining moment in our 33-year history, underscoring a renewed focus on the heart of our trades community: the industry’s independent plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical (PHCE) contractors.

Earlier this year, Nexstar announced a strategic refocus on both our mission and on who we’re built to serve: the independent home services contractor. The sunsetting of private equity-backed members has created engaging conversations and prompted thoughtful questions about how the decision may impact Nexstar members in the future.

During Nexstar’s Annual Meeting on Friday, October 3, President and CEO Julian Scadden reaffirmed that our commitment to serving members remains unwavering. “We are planning for a flat year in 2026 with no reduction in workforce,” Scadden shared, noting that Nexstar has long maintained an investment reserve for circumstances such as these to ensure stability and continuity. “Our focus is to maintain the same high level of service and support that members expect, without disruption to coaching, training, or program delivery. Looking to 2026, it’s unlikely we’ll need to draw on our reserves.”

Scadden emphasized that while the change represents a pivotal moment, it also reinforces Nexstar’s founding principles: fostering success through education and sharing while leveraging the power of the network’s collective strength and impact.

“Members can expect the same quality of coaching, training, networking, and strategic partnerships that have long distinguished Nexstar. This decision allows us to double down on what we do best,” Scadden said, “helping the world’s best tradespeople build strong, sustainable businesses and leadership teams for the future.”
