danielHow long have you been with your company and in the industry?

I have been lucky enough to work at LimRic for five years and I have been in the industry for 10 years. I started out doing installs and moved to the service side a few years ago.

How did you get started in the industry?

I worked in the food and beverage industry for about eight years or so and was getting very burned out in it. My dad also works in HVAC and suggested I take a few classes to see if I liked it. I loved it. It didn’t take long from there to get certified and land a job in my new career field!

Where are you from?

I am from Mt. Pleasant, SC and have lived in the area all my life. I love the people here, not to mention the beautiful scenery.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I spend as much of my free time as possible fishing and hanging out on the boat. My wife and I also love traveling and try to visit the Caribbean at least once a year.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I would say I have two favorite things about my job. I love being the hero to my customer and “saving the day” when it’s hot in the house, and I can provide some relief by getting their system back up and running. Second, I get a huge sense of gratification by troubleshooting and overcoming a tough job.

How does Nexstar help you do your job?

Nexstar is a great help by providing a structure for the call that lets me get to know the customer and what their needs are, while helping them understand the process and thereby ensuring the whole call goes smoothly.

Do you have any interesting customer stories?

I once did some work at a WWII veteran’s house. After the job was complete, another tech and I talked to him about many of his experiences during the war. He even showed us some monogrammed salt-and-pepper shakers that he “acquired” from Hitler’s retreat in Austria!  I don’t think either one of us will forget that day or any of the amazing stories he decided to share with us.
