Anticipating a need to seek out new ways to generate revenue in the unpredictable economy, Hargis Electric generated $250,000 in nine months by changing ballasts and T8 lamps in schools, churches and commercial buildings. In the process, they secured 60 new commercial customers by going back to the basics of building relationships.


“We went around town "cold calling" potential customers, telling them about the retrofits and the benefits of getting it done in their building,” said Hargis. “We have finished over 60 jobs, and left a very happy customer in EVERY case.”

Hargis Electric reached 1.8 million in revenue and made a 15% profit in 2009. They hit 1.5 million with a 12% profit in 2010 and this year, they’re on track to do the same with a profit increase to 15.5%.
